Graphic design is the art and practice of planning and projecting ideas and experiences with visual and textual content, this glossary is going to help people to understand more about what a Graphic Designer job is, and also it could be useful to others that want to be a Graphic Designer or for those who already are

Brainstorming
Noun
Brainstorming is a collaborative or individual technique used to generate a large volume of creative ideas and solutions for specific problems

Call to action (CTA)
Noun
Call to action (CTA) is a marketing term for any text designed to prompt an immediate response or encourage an immediate sale. A CTA most often refers to the use of words or phrases that can be incorporated into sales scripts, advertising messages, or web pages, which compel an audience to act in a specific way

CMYK
Noun
A color model based on cyan magenta, yellow and black, used for printing
Example: CMYK is used for posters and printed materials

Noun
Creativity is the ability to form novel and valuable ideas or works using one's imagination. Products of creativity may be intangible. Creativity may also describe the ability to find new solutions to problems or new methods to accomplish a goal. Therefore, creativity enables people to solve problems in new ways.

Noun
A specific style and size of text characters usedin a design
Example: This font is easy to read

Grid

A structure udes to align and organize elements in a design
Example: The grid helps keep the layout consistent

Hierarchy
Noun
The organization of elements based on their importance
Example: Visual hierarchy helps readers know where to look first

Different types of hierarchy that a graphic designer must follow to ensure projects are well done, adhere to rules for client understanding, and result in a visually appealing project.
Illustration
Noun
An illustration is a decoration, interpretation, or visual explanation of a text, concept, or process,[1] designed for integration in print and digitally published media, such as posters, flyers, magazines, books, teaching materials, animations, video games and films. An illustration is typically created by an illustrator. Digital illustrations are often used to make websites and apps more user-friendly, such as the use of emojis to accompany digital type.

Johannes Gutenberg
Noun
Johannes Gensfleisch was a German inventor and craftsman who invented the movable-type printing press.Gutenberg's invention of the printing press enabled a much faster rate of printing. The printing press later spread across the world,[3] and led to an information revolution and the unprecedented mass-spread of literature throughout Europe. It had a profound impact on the development of the Renaissance, Reformation, and humanist movements.

Noun

Example: The designer created a mockup of the website to show the client

The clarity and quality of an image based on the numbers of pixels
Example: High resolution images are better for printing

RGB
Noun

Sketch
Noun
A quick drawing used to plan a design idea

Example: The typography is the most important thing for a Graphic designer.

Noun
Visual communication is the use of visual elements to convey ideas and information which include (but are not limited to) signs, typography, drawing, graphic design, illustration, industrial design, advertising, animation, and electronic resources.
